(Mosier, OR) -- Oregon's senior U.S. senator says he won't allow Oregonians to be tied to unsafe railroad track. Senator Ron Wyden made the remarks yesterday in Mosier, ten days after an oil train that was traveling through the community derailed, causing a spill and a fire that prompted evacuation of the area and compromised the city's sewer and water systems. Investigators said faulty track was to blame for the derailment. Wyden says Mosier has set the "gold standard" for resilience in the face of catastrophe.
