(Portland, OR)  --  Portland Police Chief Larry O'Dea is expected to retire.  O'Dea is under investigation after it came to light that he shot a friend with a .22-caliber rifle during an April hunting trip.  Officials say O'Dea had initially said that the friend, Robert Dempsey, accidentally shot himself while trying to holster a pistol.  Dempsey wasn't seriously injured.  Mayor Charlie Hales is slated to hold a news conference later today.
