Tests Show 14 Beaverton Schools Have Excessive Lead Levels

(Beaverton, OR)  --  Initial test results show 14 schools in the Beaverton School District have water fountains with lead levels that exceed EPA standards.  Officials say the lead concentrations were found to exist in 100 fountains among the schools.  The district says all 64 of its schools have been tested, but only about one-third of the results have been released.  Officials say all water fixtures with lead in concentrations above 15 parts per billion will be replaced before the school year begins on September 6th.
