(Astoria, OR)  --  A Vancouver woman is awaiting her sentence, after entering an Alford plea to drowning her toddler and slashing her teenage daughter at a Cannon Beach, Oregon resort.  Jessica Smith entered the plea yesterday in Clatsop County Circuit Court to charges of murder and attempted murder.  It means she maintains her innocence but acknowledges there's enough evidence for a conviction.  Authorities say Smith drowned her two-year-old daughter in a bathtub and slashed her 13-year-old daughter's throat and arms with razor blades in a room at the Surfsand Resort more than two-years ago.
