Deadly Fire In Spokane Thought To Be Accidental

(Spokane, WA)  --  Spokane Fire officials say a blaze that killed two people and injured a firefighter at an apartment complex likely started accidentally.  Spokane Fire Department Assistant Chief Brian Schaeffer tells the "Spokesman-Review" the fire could have been controlled much more easily if the building had a sprinkler system.  The Rosewood Club Apartments reportedly was built before sprinkler systems were required.  The firefighter, 29-year-old Charles McKenzie, is now being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for severe burns across his upper torso and arms.
