(Washington, DC)  --  Washington's junior U.S. senator is pushing legislation that would ban the use of automated online ticket scalpers.  Senator Maria Cantwell says the measure targets so-called ticket bots that scalp tickets to popular events at an average markup of 49 percent.  A spokesman for Cantwell tells the "Seattle Times" the senator is concerned about making sure consumers have fair access to tickets and don't become victims of price gouging.
