(Portland, OR)  --  Sentencing is slated for October 3rd for a man who's been convicted of severely assaulting his three-month-old son.  A Multnomah County jury found 29-year-old Awes Sheikhuna guilty of assaulting the baby in the summer of 2015.  Doctors said the boy suffered critical brain injuries and will be permanently disabled.  Sheikhuna is also facing charges in a pending case, in which he's accused of three counts of encouraging child sexual abuse.
