Study: OR Highways 23rd In Cost-effectiveness

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Oregon is ranked in the top half of states with the most cost-effective and best-performing highways.  The annual highway report released by the Reason Foundation ranks Oregon's roads at number 23.  The report tracks the performance of state-owned highways based on several indicators, including highway spending, traffic congestion, bridge and pavement conditions, and the number of deaths on the roads.  According to the Reason Foundation, South Carolina, South Dakota, Kansas, and Nebraska are ranked one through five, while Washington is among the worst at number 43.
