Man Accused Of Carrying Rifle Near Portland Courthouse Charged

(Portland, OR)  --  A man is facing a federal firearms-related charge, after being accused of carrying a rifle in a controlled area near the courthouse in downtown Portland.  Court documents show Department of Homeland Security officers arrested Matthew Thomas Mglej on September 15th as he approached the Hatfield Courthouse with the rifle.  Records filed in federal court show Mglej was indicted on September 20th by a federal grand jury on a charge of possession of a firearm in a federal facility.  Mglej could face up to two years in prison if convicted.
