Hales Holds Meeting With Protesters Outside City Hall

(Portland, OR)  --  Organizers of a Black Lives Matter group are upset with Mayor Charlie Hales, saying he didn't mention he was moving a promised meeting with them to a location other than Portland City Hall.  The protesters marched to City Hall yesterday afternoon, but the building was locked, and Don't Shoot PDX organizers say they were told the meeting was moved to a North Portland church.  The protesters then held a news conference outside City Hall, saying they planned to camp out outside the building all night unless the mayor came to speak with them.  Hales did arrive at City Hall around seven o'clock last night and addressed protesters' concerns with police behavior.
