Former Spokane Bishop To Become Cardinal

(Chicago, IL)  --  Former Spokane Bishop Blase Cupich, who was named archbishop of Chicago two years ago, is being elevated by Pope Francis to the rank of Cardinal in the Catholic Church.  The "Spokesman-Review" reports Cupich was noted for restoring the church's troubled financial situation in Spokane following bankruptcy.  Cupich is to be officially installed as Cardinal on November 19th in Rome, and will have a vote in future papal elections.
