(Portland, OR) -- A new audit says Portland's ability to monitor and verify data on taxi and ride-share companies must be improved. Ride-share companies like Uber and Lyft were granted permission by the city of Portland in 2015 to begin offering their services, but the audit says the city is unable after a year to fully assess how transportation companies are serving the community. According to KOIN-TV, the audit is recommending that the transportation bureau focus on gathering and reviewing data on such areas as unfulfilled rides, long wait times, and service for disabled passengers.
