(Portland, OR)  --  A new crosswalk and median island is coming to the intersection where a Portland girl was hit and killed in August.  Officials with the Portland Bureau of Transportation are soon beginning work at Southeast Hawthorne and 43rd Avenue to make it safer for pedestrians.  Fifteen-year-old Fallon Smart was struck and killed there in August.
