(Portland, OR)  --  One person is dead, following a two-vehicle crash on Swan Island.  Police say two cars were traveling side-by-side along North Basin Avenue early yesterday morning when one of them swerved to avoid an oncoming semi, but the other vehicle collided with the rig.  The 47-year-old driver of the car was killed, but the truck driver wasn't injured.  Police say wet roads and excessive speed led to the crash.
