Browning Not Among Players Invited To Heisman Ceremony

(New York, NY)  --  Washington Huskies standout quarterback Jake Browning isn't one of the five players invited to attend the upcoming Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.  The finalists are Lamar Jackson of Louisville, Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma, Michigan's Jabrill Peppers, Deshaun Watson of Clemson, and Oklahoma's Dede [[ dee dee ]] Westbrook.  Browning, who's led the Huskies to a spot in the College Football Playoff final four, set a school record this season for touchdown passes with 42, but completed only nine of 24 passes for 118 yards against Colorado in the PAC-12 Championship game.  Steve Emtman [[ EM-mit-mun ]], who finished fourth in the balloting in 1991, is still the only player in Washington history to be invited to the Heisman ceremony.
