(Spokane, WA)  --  Two state lawmakers are looking to split Washington into two states.  Representatives Matt Shea and Bob McCaslin, who are Spokane-area Republicans, will propose a measure that would begin the process of creating the new state of Liberty, east of the Cascade Mountains.  They say the differences in culture and lifestyles between East and West make the split practical.  Gonzaga Political Science Professor Michael Treleaven tells KXLY-TV such an arrangement would be unrealistic because it would take years to make it happen and would create problems that would be difficult to solve.
