(Olympia, WA)  --  The state of Washington is suing Monsanto Corporation, claiming the company sold PCBs even though it knew the chemicals were toxic.  Governor Jay Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced the lawsuit yesterday, saying PCBs are responsible for massive contamination across the state.  PCBs, produced only by Monsanto, were used for years to insulate and cool electrical equipment.  KING-5 reports Washington is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages from the agrochemical giant in order to pay for past and future cleanups and to prevent further contamination.
