(Undated) -- A new WalletHub.com analysis shows Portland is ranked near average when it comes to compassionate cities. The financial-assistance website says the analysis compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities across 32 key indicators of a compassionate spirit. They range from the percentage of sheltered homeless persons, to number of volunteering hours per capita, to percentage of income donated to charity. WalletHub ranks Portland the 41st-most caring city, while Seattle places 23rd and Madison, Wisconsin is in first place.
