(Washington, DC) -- Washington state's junior U.S. senator says she'll vote against Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. Senator Maria Cantwell says Gorsuch's reputation as a constitutional conservative is a factor in her opposition, and says he didn't provide enough information during Senate confirmation hearings on his philosophy. Cantwell says she has doubts about whether Gorsuch would defend the right to privacy and environmental or public-health regulations. Senator Patty Murray, a fellow Democrat, recently announced her intention to vote against Gorsuch.
