(Salem, OR)  --  A girl is dead after crossing a Salem street and being hit by a car.  Shatamera Pruden was hit by an FJ Cruiser on Commercial Street Southeast and Royvonne Avenue Southeast just before 6:00 Monday night.  She was later taken to a hospital where she died of injuries.  Friends released balloons at yesterday's memorial in Pruden's honor.  The driver involved cooperated with police and isn't facing any charges.
