Oregon Among States Suing Over Student Protection

(Salem, OR)  --  Oregon is among the states suing the Education Department and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.  The suit came up after DeVos rescinded Obama-era rules aimed at protecting students from predatory colleges.  The complaint alleges the Education Department violated federal law by rescinding the rules that were finalized by the Obama administration in November.  The "borrower defense" rule allows student loan borrowers to apply for loan forgiveness if they were defrauded by for-profit schools.
