(Scappoose, OR)  --  A Portland man is dead after falling overboard while fishing in the Multnomah Channel.  The Columbia County Sheriff's department said 49-year-old Erik Peterson drowned yesterday morning.  Friends on the boat say Peterson was getting set up on the boat around four in the morning when they heard a splash after he went overboard.  They tried to get a flotation device to him but he disappeared under the water's surface.
