Details Released From Christmas Shooting

(Hillsboro, OR)  --  New details are being released about a deadly shootout that left an Oregon State Trooper dead.  A letter from the Washington County District Attorney's Office revealed Trooper Nic Cederberg was shot 12 times in 50-seconds during a shootout last year on Christmas night.  The document also concluded Cederberg, along with five other officers, was completely justified in using deadly force against homicide suspect James Tylka.

Cederberg was seriously injured during the gun fight with Tylka, after responding to reports that Tylka killed his estranged wife.

Updated to reflect that Cederberg was not fatally wounded as stated in previous reports based on incorrect information provided to KBND News.
