(Portland, OR) -- An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for much of the Pacific Northwest this week. The National Weather Service says highs near the Portland Airport could reach up to 106 degrees. Temperatures could also rise into the triple digits in Willamette Valley, Coast Range, Cascade Foothills, Cascades, Columbia River Gorge and Upper Hood River Valley. Officials are reminding people to drink lots of water and stay in shady, cool areas when possible.
