(Portland, OR)  --  Portland police are increasing their patrols today as students make their way back to the classroom.  It's part of the back to school safety campaign, which kicks off at 7:15 this morning.  Police will be making rounds at Portland public schools to keep students safe and give safety tips to parents.  More than 49-thousand students are returning to school today in Portland for the start of the new school year.
