Wyden Blasts Graham-Cassidy Bill

(Washington, DC)  --  Oregon Senator Ron Wyden is blasting the Republican-led Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill.  At a hearing to discuss the bill, Democrat Wyden urged the Senate Finance Committee not to be fooled by "the hocus pocus" Republicans were presenting.  He claimed the GOP bill would gut funding promised to states by the Affordable Care Act, forcing governors and state lawmakers to make "Hunger Games decisions" about which vulnerable people would receive access to healthcare, and which would not.  Wyden said the "iron-clad loophole-free guaranteed protection" under the Affordable Care Act for those with pre-existing conditions would be gone if the bill passed.  He said the bill re-opens the door to annual and lifetime limits on healthcare.
