Multnomah County Health Director Out Amid Racism Allegations

(Portland, OR)  --  The Multnomah County Health Department Director is stepping down amid allegations of racism.  Joanne Fuller retired yesterday, weeks after instructing a black manager to step down, prompting her call for a racism investigation.  In an email to staff, Fuller said she had been thinking about retiring for some time, and decided that this was the time.  The county recently reached a settlement with Tricia Tillman, who claimed Fuller had pushed her out of her job without rhyme or reason.  The settlement came in exchange for Tillman agreeing not to sue the county.
