(Eugene, OR)  --  A Eugene man is dead after allegedly pointing a rifle at police officers.  Authorities say the suspect had threatened to kill a woman and her child early yesterday morning, and later aimed the gun at cops.  When the man refused to comply with commands, the officers reportedly fired on him.  He was taken to a hospital, where he died.  The officers were not hurt, but a Eugene police spokeswoman says they are on administrative leave, a standard practice in police shootings.
