(Washington, D.C.) -- President Trump is tapping a lawyer with Portland ties for a position with the Labor Department. Kate O'Scannlain was raised in Portland, and if she's confirmed by the Senate, she'll be the third-ranking member of Labor. The 40-year-old would then oversee the department's attorneys. O'Scannlain is a graduate of Jesuit High School and the University of Notre Dame. Her father, Diarmuid O'Scannlain, was a Reagan-appointed judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals.
