PSU Study Finds Drivers Less Likely To Stop For Black Pedestrians

(Portland, OR)  --  A new study from Portland State University shows motorists at that campus are less likely to stop for black pedestrians.  The study also shows motorists give black people less room to cross the street than white people.  Researchers involved in the study also found that black women get the same poor treatment that black men do.  The university's Transportation Research and Education Center spokeswoman says the behavior could mean more traffic-related deaths for minority pedestrians.
