(Portland, OR)  --  Rain is in the forecast today for Northwestern Oregon as a so-called atmospheric river rolls into the area.  The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says a relatively long, narrow region in the atmosphere is carrying water vapor into the region, leading to precipitation that's expected to grow heavier as the week progresses.  KATU reports the rain will likely last through the end of the week.
