(Salem, OR)  --  An armed carjacking suspect is dead following a deputy-involved shooting in Polk County.  Police say authorities were called to a Salem Safeway store early Saturday on reports of an armed carjacking.  Deputies tried to pull the suspect over, leading to a pursuit that ended on Highway 18 near milepost 23, where deputies tried to arrest the 17-year-old and then opened fire.  Investigators say they found a weapon at the scene.
