(Portland, OR)  --  Portland is preparing for the winter season.  KATU reports the city of Portland has purchased 300 tons of salt to use on icy streets this winter.  The city has also added six snow plows to its fleet.  The preparations come after last year's unprecedented severe winter that led to multiple traffic problems.
