Sessions Calls Marijuana Use Detrimental And Suggests Federal Action

(Washington, DC)  --  Attorney General Jeff Sessions is renewing concerns of a federal crackdown on recreational marijuana.  During a news conference yesterday, Sessions called marijuana use "detrimental" and said the Justice Department is working toward a "rational policy" to enforce federal laws against it.  His comments come just over a month before California joins six other states and the District of Columbia in allowing commercial sales of recreational marijuana, which is already a multi-billion-dollar industry.  California officials tell the "Sacramento Bee" they consider any federal action "hypothetical" and say they're too busy preparing for state-level legalization to worry about it.
