(Portland, OR)  --  Former Portland Mayor Vera Katz has died.  KATU reports Katz died December 11th from kidney failure.  She was 84-years-old.  The German-born and Brooklyn-raised Katz was elected three times to serve as Portland's mayor for a total of 12 years.
