(Longview, WA)  --  A well-known lawyer from southern Washington is dead following what friends are calling a "freak accident" on the ski slopes.  Friends and family tell KATU Patrick Kubin of Longview died late last week in a skiing accident at Mount Hood Meadows.  Kubin was reportedly skiing with friends when he was thrown from his bindings and fell down a hole in the snow.  A memorial is scheduled for Saturday at the Montecello Hotel in Longview.
