(Portland, OR) -- A man is facing nearly five decades behind bars for the shooting death of 44-year-old Salem resident Brett White. A judge sentenced 20-year-old Eloy Carrera Jr. to 46 years in prison yesterday after he pleaded guilty to murder, robbery and burglary. He and 22-year-old Denzel Cortez Hawthorne are accused of shooting White in the head during a robbery in 2016. Hawthorne's trial is set to begin in April.
