PPB Faces Six Excessive Force Lawsuits

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Police Bureau is facing half a dozen lawsuits for excessive force.  The six lawsuits filed by the American Civil Liberties Union claim that cops assaulted the plaintiffs with batons and pepper spray during various protests over the past two years.  "OregonLive" reports that damages between ten-thousand-dollars and 200-thousand-dollars are being sought in each case.  The claimants and the ACLU decided to file in Multnomah County rather than federal court for a quicker decision.
