(Portland, OR) -- Columbia Sportswear's CEO is putting his money where the homeless are. Tim Boyle has announced that he'll kick in one-and-a-half-million-dollars to get a homeless shelter going in downtown Portland. "The Oregonian" reports that it's being called a "navigation center," where people will get a bed and a bath in addition to healthcare and social services. Boyle's donation to Oregon Harbor of Hope has the blessing of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, who says it's the kind of "community-based solution" he's been looking for.
