(Portland, OR) -- A Portland student is competing in the World Sneaker Championships with a Selena inspired design. Luis Pizana, who attends a footwear academy in Portland, says he was inspired by the late Tejano superstar and wanted to honor her. The sneaker is purple and white with a flap that is removable, like the jackets the singer would remove during a live performance. Pizana is competing against 63 other people and the winner will have their design produced and sold at Foot Lockers around the world.
