Audit: OR Rape Kit Backlog Should Be Cleared This Year

(Salem, OR)  --  An audit predicts that the backlog of rape kit testing in Oregon could be cleared up by the end of the year.  "OregonLive" reports that the effort to hire and train new analysts at the state crime lab resulted in a slowdown in testing.  Yesterday's audit report indicates that the lag may have created a logjam at local law enforcement agencies.
