(Shafter, CA) -- An Oregon man who allegedly led CHP officers on a chase from Los Angeles to Bakersfield, California, in a motorhome is still on the loose. His two children, who were inside the motorhome, have been reunited with their mother. Authorities say 46-year-old Stephen Houk is a registered sex offender from Oregon. He allegedly led law enforcement on the 100-plus-mile pursuit Tuesday night that ended in an almond orchard in Shafter. Police surrounded the motorhome but Houk was gone and a search of the orchard went on for hours. He's believed to be armed and is wanted on suspicion of evasion, child abduction, child endangerment and weapons violations.
