SCOOR Orders New Sentencing Hearing After Judge Cuts Off Victim

(Portland, OR)  --  The Oregon Supreme Court is siding with a crime victim who was shut up by a judge.  The decision states that Multnomah County Judge Kenneth Walker violated Dana Parks' constitutional right to be heard.  "The Oregonian" reports that Walker cut off Parks in the middle of her victim's impact statement during sentencing of her ex-boyfriend, who assaulted her.  The panel ordered a new sentencing hearing for Zachary Ball, reversing Walker's denial of a new hearing.
