(Portland, OR)  --  A man is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot by a police officer.  The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says detectives with their special investigations unit were searching for 36-year-old Vasile William Manta yesterday afternoon on multiple arrest warrants.  They found him in a car in a Burger King parking lot at Southeast 100th Avenue and Southeast Washington Street.  The detectives attempted to make contact with Manta, prompting him to allegedly place his car in reverse and ram the deputy's vehicle.  A deputy opened fire on Manta, injuring him.
