(Portland, OR) -- PGE says it's restored power to thousands of customers following a major gas leak that shut down a power substation. Firefighters responded to the intersection of Southeast 102nd and Foster Road yesterday after a contractor hit a four-inch gas main there. The leak prompted officials to evacuate all buildings on Foster Road from 101st to 104th avenues. More than 36-thousand people lost power after PGE shut down a power substation over concerns there could be potential ignition sources there. NW Natural Gas says it's successfully stopped the leak.
