"The Oregonian" reports on a national survey that shows that a renter would have to earn 36-thousand-161 dollars a year to pay the rent. The average Oregon renter makes about 65 dollars less than that. In Portland, even a studio apartment would bust the budget, and in most rural areas of the state a minimum wage earner couldn't afford a one-bedroom.
