Fatal Klamathon Fire Slows And Containment Increases

(Yreka, CA)  --  One of California's most destructive wildland blazes is slowing down slightly and containment is improving.  Cal Fire reports the Klamathon Fire is now 30-percent contained after ripping through just over 35-thousand-acres since it started last Thursday afternoon in Siskyou County.  That's only a couple-hundred more acres overnight, but it gained five-thousand-acres during the day Sunday and spread across the Oregon border.  The inferno has killed one resident, injured three firefighters, destroyed 81 structures, damaged another dozen and threatens more than 800.
