Parents Who Relied On Faith Healing Sentenced For Baby's Death

(Clackamas County, OR)  --  Two Clackamas County parents who relied on faith healing for their newborn daughter are going to spend years behind bars for her death.  Sarah and Travis Mitchell were both given six-year prison terms Monday for negligent homicide and criminal mistreatment.  Sarah Mitchell gave birth to twins at her parents' home last year, and one of the babies was having trouble breathing.  Instead of calling 911, they relied on prayer.  The child died hours later.
