(Portland, OR)  --  A 23-year-old Portland woman is recovering after driving her car off Pier 39 in Astoria.  Police say the woman was experiencing a mental health crisis when she drove off the pier into the Columbia River yesterday afternoon.  The woman managed to escape her sinking car and swim safely to shore.  She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
