Former Portland Top Cop's Police Certification Yanked

(Salem, OR)  --  Former Portland Police Chief Larry O'Dea can't be a cop for ten years.  The state Board of Public Safety Standards and Training voted yesterday to pull O'Dea's police certification for a decade.  OregonLive reports that city investigations found he had not been forthcoming about an off-duty 2016 shooting and he failed to take action on an employee complaint.  Portland's current police chief, Danielle Outlaw, took part by phone and voted to uphold the revocation after initially voting against it.
